Week of September 9-13

This week students finished their notes on the Industrial Revolution.

We also watched the movie Lyddie, about a girl who worked in the cotton mills during the Industrial Revolution.

Students also began the book Finn Reardon.   We will be reading this book into October.  It is about a boy who lives with his family in New York in the year 1900.   He delivers newspapers and will even participate in the Newspaper strike.

We will continue to work through our packets.

Students will have a quiz on Monday on their first sheet---Images from the Industrial Revolution.   Students need to just read through their notes on this.  It will be a multiple choice quiz, and not too hard.

Students also need to interview someone about September 11th, 2001.  They just need to find where the person was, how they found out about the attacks, and what their general feelings were.   This is a primary document they will gather.
